JOB DESCRIPTION

Burke Shire Council is seeking applications for the position of Workplace Health, Safety and Training Officer.

 

The Workplace Health, Safety and Training Officer is responsible for Council’s workplace health, safety, traffic management planning, quality systems and is also to fulfil the role of airport reporting officer and overseeing the operation of the Council’s airstrips. The officer will also be responsible for maintaining and coordinating training of Council staff.

The successful candidate is not required to have a formal qualification however must be willing to complete a Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety and any other training required to fulfil the requirements of the position.

This is a permanent, full time position and will be offered at Level 3.1 of the Queensland Local Government (Stream A) Award - $1,080.91 per week. Upon successful completion of training and obtaining a Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety this will be reviewed.
