The Role
Reporting to the Superintendent – Asset Management and Engineering Projects you will be an integral part of developing and delivering the Asset Management Strategy for surface electrical infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to lead capital projects from concept through to commissioning and build relationships with stakeholders through all levels of the business. There will be opportunities to help Operators realise improvement opportunities and to deliver on strategic business initiatives in conjunction with the Management Team. You will become a key part of a multi-disciplined Engineering team and contribute to our positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities will include
  • Provide technical support to the Concentrator maintenance, operations, metallurgy and reliability teams;
  • Deliver electrical capital works programs to implement and facilitate plant improvement projects;
  • Drive process improvements to reduce operational costs;
The successful candidate will possess
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or similar;
  • Experience in working with control systems including Yokogowa DCS (Centum VP) and Allen Bradley PLC’s;
  • Experience in high and low voltage variable speed drives;
  • Experience in high voltage switching, isolation and access;
  • Experience in a mineral processing or heavy industry environment;
  • Past exposure to being the Primary Person to Control Electrical Work on a mine site or similar highly desirable;
  • A strong safety focus, required for promoting site safety standards; and
  • Advanced computer literality.

This position is residentially based in Cloncurry, DIDO from Mount Isa or FIFO from Townsville, Cairns or Brisbane. The successful candidate will work twelve (12) hour days on and eight (8) days on, six (6) days off roster.
